The Macaulay Minute, a crucial policy document that was introduced by Thomas Babington Macaulay on February 2, 1835. This drastically altered the Indian educational system while it was ruled by the British. It resolved the long-running "Orientalist-Anglicist" controversy by supporting English as the medium of instruction in the West.
